‚Äč            DENHAM SPRINGS, La. – 4H students at Lewis Vincent Elementary School recently hosted a “Back the Blue” Day to honor local law enforcement officers and express their appreciation for the work they do each day.

Nearly 20 officers from the City of Denham Springs, Livingston Parish and East Baton Rouge Parish participated in a special breakfast ceremony.  At the same time, the club had food delivered to the Denham Springs fire and police departments and the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s office.

“We want members of law enforcement to know that we appreciate the work they do four our community,” LVE Principal Designee Kerma Luzier said.  “We have the privilege of serving many officers and having them share valuable time with our students.”

Luzier thanked Bargain Depot for donating sausage biscuits and grits for the breakfast.  Students also brought fruit and pastries for the gathering, she said.

Luzier noted that the school’s 4H club is a community service club, and each month the members take part in an activity that provides service to the community.
